Konami: Currently "no solution" for MGO disaster

In the latest of a string of online gaming-related disasters for Konami, the Japanese company has admitted it currently has "no permanent solution" to ongoing problems with the Metal Gear Online servers.

"Heavy server load" has buckled Konami's systems since the Metal Gear Online Gene Expansion went live on July 17, as gamers rushed online to get in on the action.

Features such as log-in, the MGO reward shop, ranking display, online help, and the community support page have all been on the blink. Payments made through the site have also been wrongly processed, forcing Konami to refund accounts.

A fuller, and shockingly long, list of the issues experienced have been posted in an official report, in which Konami says: "We have been taking numerous corrective measures since the problems initially started, but unfortunately there are no permanent solutions we can announce at this present moment."

And to think this game had a beta test...
